Rainforest Alliance Certified
Awarded for demonstrating our compliance with rigorous global standards.
We have been able to obtain the Rainforest Alliance tea certification covering four of our tea estates, demonstrating our compliance with rigorous global standards. This certification is a demonstration of our compliance with the requirements of the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN), a global standard given to organisations, which satisfy stringent conditions relating to the environment. Accordingly, the estates which have received this certification, are pledged to protect the environment and endangered species, maintain wildlife corridors, assure soil, ensure responsible waste management. Moreover, the certified estates are committed to strengthen community relations, function in compliance with occupational health and safety standards, ensure fair treatment, and good working conditions. This certification covers a total of 2263.40 hectares including 1547.25 production hectares and 1,314,308kg of production volume.
Ethical Tea Partnership
Ethical Tea Partnership, a global non-profit organisation a global not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to help create a thriving socially just and environmentally sustainable tea sector.
We have joined hands with the Ethical Tea Partnership, a global not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to help create a thriving socially just and environmentally sustainable tea sector. Our relationship with the Ethical Tea Partnership goes beyond a mere certification as we are working in tandem with them on long-term programmes to tackle the deep-rooted issues and some of the most complex challenges that tea workers and communities are facing today.
Carbon Neutral Status
Recognising our efforts on reducing the carbon footprint, we received the Carbon Neutral Certification by the Sri Lanka Climate Fund functioning under the Ministry of Environment.
We have pledged to make little or no negative impact on the environment that we operate in. Powered by our state-of-the-art carbon neutral facilities, we have been able to mark net-zero carbon emissions by proactive reductions and offsetting the CO2 emissions of our operations. Recognising our efforts on reducing the carbon footprint, we received the Carbon Neutral Certification by the Sri Lanka Climate Fund functioning under the Ministry of Environment. Before awarding the certificate, all three levels of direct, indirect, and other GHG emissions by the facility were verified.
Climate Positive Status
Moving forward as an eco-minded tea producer, we have been able to become a ‘Climate Positive’ company.
Moving forward as an eco-minded tea producer, we have been able to become a ‘Climate Positive’ company. We were able to reach this milestone in our eco-driven journey by successfully fulfilling the requirements of the Climate Positive certification system by adhering to the Product CFP protocol-PAS 2050 and Organisation CFP Protocol of ISO 14064-1:2006.
Ceylon Tea Quality Certificate
Sri Lanka Tea Board awards the ‘Ceylon Tea Certificate’ to the tea manufacturers who comply with the strict quality standards set by the Board.
The uncompromised quality of Ceylon tea is known world over. In order to assure the origin and quality of Ceylon tea, the Sri Lanka Tea Board awards the ‘Ceylon Tea Certificate’ to the tea manufacturers who comply with the strict quality standards set by the Board. We have received this prestigious certification from the Tea Board, which indicates that our tea is grown, manufactured and packed entirely in Sri Lanka.
